  • SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE

    POLSON SCHOOL DISTRICT #23

    August 22, 2016

    Dear Families:

In preparation for the coming school year, I would like to officially WELCOME YOU BACK TO THE 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR!  Exactly one year ago, I was preparing this same welcome back letter for the high school and this year it is with excitement that I am preparing a welcome back letter for our district.  I am extremely humbled and excited by the opportunity to help lead our school district.

My focus this year will be to build and strengthen relationships throughout our schools and into our community.  We will continue our instructional focus with Professional Learning Communities (PLC); emphasizing a consistent curriculum, sound lessons, and purposeful reading and writing opportunities for all students at all grade levels.  In addition, I will create a 90-day Superintendent transition plan that will assess the state of our district by conducting a Talk and Listen tour that will gather insights into what is working within our district and to determine our growth areas.

Our first day if school will be Monday, September 29th.  The building administrator(s), teachers, and maintenance department are already diligently preparing for the students’ arrival.  It is truly an exciting time of year.  I am thankful that we have such a talented and dedicated staff that will be working with your children.

I look forward to a great year and to the opportunity to strengthen our school-family relationship as we move forward to improve the learning opportunities for all students.

    Respectfully,

    Rex M. Weltz
    Superintendent,

    Polson School District
