Polson coaches elected to MCA Hall of Fame

Polson adds two more coaches to MCA Hall of Fame

The Montana Coaches Association Hall of Fame has been recognizing the best of Big Sky Country's coaches since 1982, and this year's crop of honorees is the largest since the 1983 class when 17 were inducted.

A pair of veteran coaches from Polson were selected to the Hall of Fame this year. Smith has guided the Pirates softball team as head man the past 29 years and helped Polson capture seven state titles. Hislop has spent 26 years as Polson's tennis team leader and led the Pirates to three state crowns.

Coach Smith and Coach Hislop entered the Coaches HOF at an induction ceremony Aug. 3 in Great Falls. The induction will coincided with the MCA Clinic Awards Ceremony at the Great Falls High School auditorium.

The two Polson coaches will join previously elected PHS coaches Toby Nelson, Bob Gunderson, and Mindy Harwood  in the MCA Hall of Fame.
