Health Services

Below you will find general information about the health services offered at each school along with links to policies and forms for health care providers.

Head Lice Screening is conducted on all elementary students several times throughout the school year. Your school nurse will notify the parent/guardian if head lice are discovered.

Hearing Screening is mandated by the state and is provided by an audiologist. Kindergarten, 1st and 9th graders, and percussion band members are screened along with new students and those students referred by teachers, parents, or the students themselves. Preschoolers may also be screened. Following the initial screening, we will conduct a rescreen on absent students, new students, and students identified with a hearing deficit during the initial screening.

Vision Screening is provided by the Lions Club using the Plus Optix visual equipment. Kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, and 9th graders are screened along with new students and those students referred by teachers, parents, or the students themselves. Preschoolers may also be screened.

Dental Screening is provided by the local dentists in our community. Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders are screened. Your school nurse will ask for parent/guardian consent if the dentist offers fluoride or sealant treatments. The parents/guardians will be notified by their school nurse if any of the screenings warrant a more in-depth evaluation. For any questions, please contact your student's school nurse.
